Rules & Regulations
The following are the official rules and regulations of the Mister Texas Competition. Contestants must read and adhere to these rules and regulations in order to participate in the Mister Texas Competition.
Background
Tentatively, the Mister Texas Competition will consist of the following four sections:
“Texas, My Texas”
Contestants will wear clothing of their selection, furnished by the contestant, that represents a casual day in “his” corner of Texas. The clothing worn is to represent a casual day in the life of the contestant. During this time, the contestant will be briefly interviewed.
“Team Texas”
Contestants will join forces to perform a group number to entertain the audience. Clothing most likely will be provided by The Mister Texas Organization. Contestants must complete any rehearsals required by The Mister Texas Organization related to any on stage performances.
“Texas – Buff & Trim”
The Mister Texas Organization will most likely provide identical swimwear for each contestant for the swimwear portion of the competition. Hence, contestants must complete their swimwear fitting session prior to the competition.
“A Texas Night on the Town”
Contestants will wear clothing of their selection, furnished by the contestant, that represents a “night on the town” from the perspective of the contestant. Additionally, the contestant will be briefly interviewed and asked why he made the clothing selection he did and what is ideal “night on the town” would be.
- Unless otherwise stated to the contestants, all clothing wore by the contestants will be of the contestants’ choosing and must be furnished by the contestants.
- The use of steroids/performance enhancing drugs is strictly forbidden within the Mister Texas Competition. The physical attributes and beauty of each contestant’s physique is to be a result of genetics, hard work, and sound nutrition.
- The consumption of alcoholic beverages of any kind may not take place the day of the competition, up to the conclusion of the competition.
- Although The Mister Texas Organization believes the existence of/removal of body hair is a personal choice, each contestant must be void of all body hair (i.e. torso, legs, armpits, etc.) and must remove ample hair from the pubic area, so as to not protrude from the edges of bikini swimwear, by the night of the competition. This is particularly important during the swimwear portion of the competition. This rule has been put in place so that the musculature and definition of each contestant’s physique can be judged on a level playing field (not obscured by body hair) and so the winner of the Mister Texas Competition will meet the minimum requirements of subsequent competitions, which he may participate within, such as Mister USA, Mister World, or Mister International.
- Although not mandatory, The Mister Texas Organization highly recommends that each contestant undergo spray tanning sessions OR achieve a tanned complexion by natural means so that the all areas of the contestant’s exposed body possess a consistent hue, by the night of the competition. This is particularly important during the swimwear portion of the competition. This rule has been put in place so that the musculature and definition of each contestant’s physique can be judged on a level playing field (not obscured by inconsistent skin tones) and so the winner of the Mister Texas Competition will meet the minimum requirements of subsequent competitions, which he may participate within, such as Mister USA, Mister World, or Mister International.
